English Schools results

Nine athletes from Wigan Harriers competed in the English Schools Championships - the highest level competition for anyone at school in the Country and one of the largest events for Athletics in the world.

Demonstrating the range of events Wigan Harriers offer, three athletes picked up medals whilst two more made finals.

Leading the way Claudia Berry jumped a silver medal, pb and equal club record in the Inter girls pole vault of 3.40m

Yas Baker took a superb bronze in the Senior girls shot with 12.21m.

A fantastic bronze for Holly Capstick in the Senior Girls 4x100m relay after finishing in the top 20 over 100m.

6th place for Emma Pimblett with 10.99 in the Inter Girls Triple Jump, an outdoor seasons best.

Corey Middleton in his first season of 400m hurdles ran his second and third fastest time ever to finish 7th in the Senior Boys. With Owen Baron also within a second of his pb to finish 16th overall.

In close competitions Emily Wilson finished 10th in the Pole Vault whilst Lauren Hewitt was 12th with 5.03m in the long jump.

And the youngest from the club to attend Katie-Louise Malley ran 4.55.14 over 1500m and gained great experience for future years.
