Northern U13 / U15 & U17 Championships report.

Gold for U13 Erin Baron, who stepped up to the U15 age group to win the Northern U15 Pole Vault title at Liverpool. 

Conditions were wet and windy for the jumpers. Sam Hodgkinson jumped close to his best with 1.65 clearance for silver in the U15 High Jump to go with pbs in the 80m hurdles, 5th in 12.56 and Long Jump 7th 4.96m. 

Lauren Hewitt jumped a pb 10.52m for bronze U17 Triple Jump, after a close 5th place long jump 4.93m and 8th 80m hurdles 12.98. 

Bronze also for Emily Wilson in the U17 Pole Vault with 2.90m whilst Claudia Berry picked up 5th with 2.70m. 

Staying with the u17’s there were a few just missing out on medals in 4th place. 

Isaac Wright had two top 8 finishes with 4th in Shot 12.15m and 6th Discus 34.09m

Dylan Gough and Holly Nicholls were both 4th in their respective 1500m steeplechase races, Dylan in 5.11.13 and Holly 6.27.26.

Ava Wareing was another making finals with 5th Javelin 23.57m, 8th Hammer 22.03m and 9th Discus 23.57m pb. 

Will Ashcroft showed potential over 400m dropping down from the 800m he smashed his 400m pb with 52.95 in his heat before finishing 7th in the final 54.29.

Alexander Glenn was just short of his 800m pb with 2.07.44. 

Skye Gordon finished in the top 8 in the under 15’s long jump with 4.62m after running 200m in 30.18, whilst Evie Hampson long jumped 4.06m after running 30.34, 200m and 48.37, 300m.

Wigan’s U15 speed queen, Elody Hill made the semi-finals at both 100m and 200m running into some strong winds, 100m 13.79 ht. 13.85 sf 200m 28.47 ht 29,06 sf. Whilst Katie-Louise Malley was just few seconds outside her best with a 1500m of 4.55.63

Luke Ashcroft was the clubs only U13 but was rewarded with a pb 800m of 2.31.87.
