OVER 40 COUNTY MEDALS WON!

Greater Manchester Championships

Wigan Harriers had a fantastic turnout to the County Championships with over 40 medals won across the various counties and two club records broken. 

Holly Nicholls took a massive 20 seconds of her own pb and current club 1500m Steeplechase record with 6.11.6 to win the Greater Manchester U17 title. Erin Baron meanwhile added 20cm to her U13 Pole Vault record clearing 2.40m. 

Several athletes won multiple titles with Combined Eventers, the Hewitt sisters, Amy & Lauren, each winning four medals, both picking up two golds, Amy U20 400m H & Long Jump and Lauren U17 Long & High jump. Sam Hodgkinson won a double jumps at U15 with Long & High jump titles; another double winner was Emma Pimblett over 100m and Triple Jump also picking up a silver in the Long Jump. 

Gold medals were also won by Owen Baron, U20 400m H (GM), Corey Middleton U20 400m H (Lancs), Will Jackson U20 High Jump, Matthew Hayton, U17 Triple Jump, Josh Roberts, U17 Long Jump, Emily Wilson U17 Pole Vault and Charlie Stretton U15 Pole Vault
